November is National Family Caregivers Month, and although it’s technically come to an end, I still had to take the time to say “thank you” to the 50+ million Americans providing some type of caregiving support to a disabled, ill, or elderly family member. I grew up as a caregiver, so I understand some of the challenges associated with this role. However, with the challenges can come the rewards, like patience and empathy for others. [...]

An email landed in my inbox a couple of months ago about the Cleaning for a Reason Foundation, an organization that provides cleaning services free of charge to cancer patients undergoing treatments. Over 600 cleaning companies across the 50 states have agreed to donate their services to local residents. According to the website, the Foundation “will not be accepting any new applications until Monday, December 7.” If interested, I would check back then for details [...]
I was so crazy at work today that I didn’t have time to check in on Twitter. I left the office late and started walking the cold and rainy Chicago streets in a super-blah mood. As I check Twitter from my phone, I see this tweet: Oh, boy…Even though there were only 4 hours left in the day, at that point the day started to finally look up! I am so excited to receive this [...]
There are few things that excite people like free items. Especially when you get them for just being awesome, blogging, or attending an event. While I’m not a complete swag bag junkie, my eyes do grow bigger when someone says “Don’t forget to grab a bag on your way out!” Wow, me? Sure! While some bags are total homeruns, others are filled with items that I will probably never use. I’m childless so a can [...]
Ever since he won Project Runway with his large attitude and fierce designs, Christian Siriano has been EVERYWHERE! In his latest collaboration, he has teamed up with Starbucks to design a limited-edition holiday gift card. The miniature silver gift card works like any other Starbucks card but it’s designed so you can attach it to your keys, backpacks, etc. Proceeds from the sales of the gift card will help support The Art of Elysium program, [...]
Over the weekend, I was talking to a friend of mine about how tired I’ve been lately and he asked me what I’d done all week. Usually, I answer with the usual “Work, Red Pump stuff, work, blog.” But, this time, I attended some actual events, a couple with a charitable focus! So, of course, that made me smile. Here’s a quick recap of the two fun things that I did last week! I attended [...]

The clutches are created with a t-shirt on the outside and are lined with working denim pockets, combining function plus style. As a holiday special, all the clutches in her Etsy shop are 25-40% off. Rather be unique? You can also create a custom clutch and from now until December 31st, buy one and get one half off! [...]
Join NYC’s fashionable crowd for “Fashion for Action,” a four day charitable fashion event, silent auction, and sample sale that raises funds for Housing Works’ services for homeless and low-income New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS. Fashion for Action is co-sponsored by designer Derek Lam and sponsored by Essence Magazine. Over 150 top designers have donated $1 million worth of merchandise that will be sold at 50 to 70 percent off retail prices. Participating designers and [...]
Over the summer, I mentioned that Jimmy Choo would be rolling out Project PEP, a limited-edition line in partnership with the Elton John Foundation. Well, if you were holding your breath for the punk-inspired pieces, go ahead and exhale. The collection is now available in stores and online. The selection ranges from sky-high stilettos to edgy clutches and totes. Here are some of my favorites below! The collection is a little pricey, but I honestly [...]
