Fit and Fab: So It Begins…

Welcome to a new journey in the chronicles of The Fabulous Giver. I’ve decided to kick off “Fit and Fab” because it’s time that I really, I mean really start focusing on being the most gorgeous and healthy version of myself. Today, I blogged my inaugural entry for the American Cancer Society’s Choose You blog. In the post, I discuss why I’m finally taking the time to do this, and what my health goals are.

Up first, I plan to get these eating habits under control. I am out of control, y’all. I stuff my face with bread when I feel anxious (literally). I eat maybe 1-2 times per day. And, sometimes, my first meal isn’t until after 1p. Does that sound crazy to you guys? It sure looks crazy to type! *shakes head* My goal this week is to prepare some healthy, convenient meals that must include more fruits and veggies! That is an absolute must.

Next, let’s talk exercise. I’m a petite gal, but I could stand to be a bit more toned. The problem is that exercise bores me with a capital BORE! So, I’m on the prowl for some fresh and exciting ways to get my fit on…starting with Yoga Booty Ballet. I recently purchased five classes on Groupon, so I’m looking forward to trying one. Actually, I am flat out geeked. I’ve been eyeing these classes for awhile and what better time than now!

So, stick with me as I get my act (and body) together…And, I’d love to hear your thoughts and tips/tricks allow the way! Oh, and when I tweet updates, I’ll be using the hashtag #fitandfab. ;-)

On this mission indeed. My youngest daughter and I are now working out together. I’ve done Yoga Booty Ballet in the past and I loved it. You will definitely see results. I jump back on task last night with our workouts for now we are getting started with The Firm and Budukon. Enjoy the process of moving towards a better fabulous you!!

I have a weakness for sweets. I tend to skip wholesome meals for honeybuns, cookies, and cake.
I am trying to add more fruits and veggies into my diet.

I walk pretty much everyday but I need to find another excerise program to try also.

Good luck to you and your new goal. I am positive you can do it.

    I love your site.

I am also on a mission to eat better and exercise.
I tend to devour sweets. They are my weakness. I will choose a honeybun for breakfast and cake for lunch. It is just awful. So, I have been trying to subsitute the sweets with fruit. And also adding more veggies.

    I am still healthy weight but I do have a . . . muffin top :(
Can’t keep using the two children excuse (they are 14 and 10 now)
I walk daily but have been thinking about joining a yoga class.

I’m so proud of you Kar-Bear! I have to say I should def join you. Like you I am petite but-er-ummm…my F21 jeans ain’t fittin’ like they used ta so I need to be doing some Yoga Booty right along w/ ya! My suggestion is to always eat something green everyday w/ dinner. I do that now. A salad, steamed broccoli, string beans, something. Also if you subscribe to Essence they have a food section towards the back that lays out healthy meals/recipes for like, a week right along w/ a grocery list. I say try some of those as well!

Best of luck to you in your journey to become a better you! I totally understand where you are coming from and decided about a month or so ago to take my health and wellness seriously. No more fad diets, just smart eating and exercise. Sounds like you’re off to a great start — I suggest drinking plenty of water and even a food journal may help.
