What Would You Give With…?

Today’s post is pretty simple…I’m just going to tell you all what I would give with various amounts of money. So, here we go!

With $5… I’d “pay it forward” at Starbucks and pay for the person’s order behind me.

With $50…I’d give some grocery money to an out-of-work family.

With $500…I’d give a deserving classroom money for a fun, educational field trip.

With $5000…I’d give five $1000 scholarships to teens affected by multiple sclerosis.

Your turn. Think about what you’d give with these funds and then just start making it happen. Especially with the $5 idea!

Here’s what I came up with:

With $5: I’d buy a $5 gift card for a fast food place and give it to a panhandler. I have a friend that I recently found out regularly buys $5 gift cards so homeless people she encounters have a hot meal and a place to hang out while its cold or rainy, and I thought it was a great idea.

With $50: Hmmm. I think I would just buy 10 of the $5 gift cards above. It may not be especially healthy, but these guys could use some extra calories in them anyway.

With $500: I would have art and poetry contests for elementary school students, with multiple prizes totalling $500. Go Arts!

With $5000: This was actually the toughest one for me. It’s between some kind of scholarship (not directed at aiding students with multiple sclerosis, as the original poster, sorry), or donating it directly toward a worth charity, such as Idealist.org. For the scholarship, it would definitely be need-based (only for poor kids), and I think I’d probably do something cool with it. Maybe requiring the kids to write an essay about how they’d charitably spend $5000.
