On Thursday, April 30th, various restaurants across the country will participate in Dining Out for Life, an event designed to raise money for AIDS organizations. Here in Chicago, approximately 30 restaurants will help raise funds for AIDSCare Chicago, an organization which has dedicated itself to improving the quality of life for Chicagoans with HIV/AIDS since 1992. The Greater Chicago Food Depository is still accepting donations for its holiday food drive. You have until January 3rd to drop off non-perishable items at your local Dominick’s store. The economy has placed a greater strain on family resources and agencies like the GCFD are reporting an increase in need citywide.
