L’Oréal Paris has a longstanding participant in the fight against ovarian cancer. Since 1997, the company’s efforts have donated over $18 million to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF). This being September and all, the beauty brand is gearing up its “Color of Hope” campaign to provide customers with facts about the disease and ways they can support the cause. "Tue" Fabulous

Last week, I read a great post on Dressed to Give about OPI’s involvement with various charitable organizations and causes. As a huge fan of OPI colors, I thought that I would dedicate today’s post to their South Beach collection, which I am completely in love with -kb P.S. While the “star” of the post is obviously the OPI colors, those Galliano heels are giving me butterflies, so somebody (*ahem*) should go ahead and buy [...]

Party Over Here!

I’m a firm believer in work hard and play hard! Especially if you’re talking about playing for charity! This is why I’m so excited to participate in a nationwide initiative sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. J&J has selected bloggers across the country to host a Johnson’s Body Care Cause Party. These parties are supposed to celebrate girlfriends, being beautiful, and of course, making a difference.  Ashanti actually hosted the first cause party and she raised [...]

KB's Journey: Taking A Stand Against Hunger

I’m trying to get better about doing recaps for the events that I attend…Here goes! In the past 24 hours, I’ve had the chance to take part in two GREAT events benefitting the Greater Chicago Food Depository! Wednesday night, I attended Heineken with a Heart, a bar event held at the always swanky Crimson Lounge.  I got there towards the end of the event so I only heard the last two minutes of the amazing [...]

Pants for Goodwill…$15 off for YOU!

When I got home last night, I noticed a stack of vouchers on the front desk of the lobby. The first thing that caught my said was something about 15% off. Upon closer inspection, I learned that the voucher was advertising the “Out with the Old, Save on the New” event that Ann Cares, the philanthropic program of the Ann Taylor stores, is hosting to benefit Goodwill Industries.  From Monday, March 2 to Sunday, March [...]

Macy's Go Red Sale

On Sunday, I posted about Campbell Soup’s support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red initiative! Well, it’s hard to discuss Go Red without also recognizing Macy’s committment to the cause. In addition to the funds being donated through their corporate foundation, Macy’s is allowing us to show our support and save! Starting today through Sunday, February 8th, you can save 20% in Macy’s stores when you wear red! No red in your closet? Well, [...]

32 Bowls of Food for $1

I know that title seems impossible, but let me explain. When you donate $1 to Feeding America (formerly known as America’s Second Harvest), that dollar can help provide 16 bowls of food to hungry American families. Now, Kraft Foods is matching all donations, up to $250,000! So, does my title make sense now? Before: $1 = 16 Bowls Now: $1 = 32 Bowls!!! I donated $5 this morning…Feels good knowing that my Starbucks money helped [...]
