Growing up in Chicago is core to who I am and who I am still in the process of becoming. I’m a native South Sider and always thought that I would get to give my boys the same experience growing up in the city. However, life had other plans! Even though we’re suburbanites, the city still has a special place in our hearts. In fact, I’m always on the hunt for Chicago children’s gifts and gear to maintain that connection, while supporting local businesses.
Our go-to spot is Kido Chicago, an apparel brand and South Loop shop founded by a Black woman + fellow Whitney Young HS alum. But, there is no shortage of cool places slanging even cooler merchandise for children. If you’re planning shopping for your favorite city kid right now, this roundup of Chicago children’s gifts will help make your life a little easier.
